SEWAGE AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS
Polyester pipes are most commonly used for the transport of waste waters, as the sulphuric acid often present therein destroys pipes made of other materials. This fact is generally known to engineers, and hence they decline to specify any material other than GRP in such applications.
GRP piping systems are very effective in draining precipitation and surface waters and are therefore commonly applied in the construction of precipitation water sewage networks.
Polyester pipes are further suitable for pressurised sewage systems (forced flow systems), where essential requirements include long service life, simple installation and operation without interruptions.
Standard pipe Nominal Diameters in the range DN 80 to DN 2 400 are available, for Nominal Pressures PN 1 up to PN 32 and with different Nominal Stiffnesses. The supplied pipes conform to international standards (ISO, EN ISO, SIST EN ISO) and come with a valid Slovenian technical approval.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Polyester piping systems are also suitable for industrial applications and are mainly applied in mining, oil processing and chemical industries.
Furthermore, such systems are applied in power plants, solar thermal plants, industrial effluent handling systems, desalination plants, fish farms, fire extinguisher systems and biodiesel producing plants.
IRRIGATION SYSTEMS
A major part of operational costs of irrigation systems are associated with piping performance. Piping systems that prevent water losses offer distinct benefits, and accordingly, GRP pipes are increasingly substituting conventional metal or concrete piping systems or open ditches.
Polyester pipes are installed in main transmission lines, network lines and pumping stations. Irrigation system piping usually crosses steep valleys, water streams or ponds. Due to their light weight, GRP pipes facilitate the construction of irrigation systems, as they are easy to transport even across steep terrain and safe to install. Due to their large mechanical strength, overload flexibility and resistance against corrosion, such piping systems are ideal for irrigation systems. Due to inherent resistance against corrosion, no extra corrosion or cathode protection is required. Our GRP pipe connecting systems facilitate safe, fast and easy installation of irrigation systems.
Excellent product properties combined with fulfilling requirements specific to the particular project enable great flexibility and adjustment to requirements as well as prevent water losses in transmission and network piping or evaporation from open ditches and reduce operational losses.
HYDRO POWER PLANTS
Sisteko supplies pipes for installation in hydro power plants.
Due to their combination of mechanical and chemical properties, polyester pipes, connections and other fittings are the ideal choice for applications in this field. GRP piping systems create less flow resistance than similar steel or iron based systems in comparable conditions.
Pipes are available in sizes DN 80 to DN 2400, pressure classes PN 6 to PN 32 and stiffnesses up to SN 128,000.
Liquid Water
Polyester pipes are proven to be an excellent choice in water supply applications.
With their smooth inner surface and resistance against erosion, lengths and a broad range of diameters, polyester pipes rank among leading technologies
for transporting and storage of potable and rain water. Potable water storage tanks and GRP pipes are designed for each client individually.
Factory manufactured pipe modules are assembled and finally installed in the workshop or at the construction site. This ensures fast and easy installatio.n
Available in sizes from DN 100 to DN 4000, stiffnesses SN 2500 to SN 10000 and pressure classes up to 32 bar – depending on the pipe size.
